UPDATE: 06 Feb 2023,

The road is graveled from BENI up to a few km away from Rupse waterfall.
You will drive on a well-paved road just a few km from RUPSE waterfall up to MARPHA.
also, the road is well-paved from KAGBENI to Muktinath.

ACAP permit cost: NPR 3,000 per person for foreign nationals;
And, NPR 1,000 per person for SAARC nationals.

TIMS card: Nepali Rupees 1,000 per person for foreign nationals (2000 NRs if traveling solo)
TIMS card for SAARC nationals is Nepali rupees 300 per person(400 NRs if traveling solo)
Required documents: Passport Details, trip itinerary, and 2 passport size of Pictures

Due to the upgrade of the current road condition, Beni Jomsom section towards the Muktinath, Mustang road will be closed from October 28, 2021 up to certain time period until completion.

Driving towards Muktinath, the road is well-paved up to Beni.​

You will need a 4-wheel Jeep/SUV since the road has rough terrain and some sections might be difficult if you are a novice driver.

Duration: 8– 9 hours;
Distance: approx. 185 km
(Pokhara-Muktinath)

Do we need any special permit for Muktinath Tour?​

Yes, a permit is compulsory for Muktinath Tour.
All travelers need two permits. One is the Annapurna Conservation area permit and another is the TIMS card.
This will be arranged by your local tour operator in Nepal.

Entry fees can be obtained from Kathmandu and Pokhara.
The ACAP entry fee is Rs. 200.00 Per person for Indians and other SAARC nationals and Rs. 2000.00 per person for other foreign nationals at the above-mentioned designated place.
An equal extra fee will be levied if permits are issued from the field check post.
The Permit is non-refundable, non-transferable, and valid for a single entry.

hi, the beni-jomsom road is still muddy due to the recent landslides.
mustang jilla ko simana surubhaye pachi 1km jati (before reaching ghasa) cross garisake pachhi baato muskil thiyo. tespachhi khasai chhaina.

The road condition up to Beni appears to be satisfactory, with a few instances of landslides en route to Kalopani. However, it is noteworthy that Kagbeni has been significantly impacted by landslides. Nevertheless, this should not hinder your journey to Muktinath Temple, as Kagbeni can be bypassed by taking an alternative route. It is imperative, though, to exercise caution and closely monitor weather conditions before embarking on your trip to Muktinath. Recent times have seen unpredictable weather patterns, and in areas affected by landslides, there are standby excavators available to clear the roads for travelers' convenience.
