Panch Pokhari means “Five Lakes” and refers to a group of sacred alpine lakes in Sindhupalchowk. The trek is relatively off-the-beaten-path compared with Everest or Annapurna, with fewer tourists and a mix of guesthouses, homestays and camping.

The trek's main attraction is reaching the five sacred lakes at roughly 4,100–4,350 m, with views toward the Jugal Himalaya and peaks such as Dorje Lakpa. The route also passes through forests and Langtang National Park.
