Visa on Arrival and Quarantine
After the pandemic started in 2020, the Government of Nepal has stopped issuing Visa on Arrival to date. After two long years of rule, the government has finally decided to change some rules regarding visas on arrival and quarantine for those who are fully vaccinated and who are willing to visit Nepal. Though the press release is in Nepali, here is a translation summary of the press release:Documents required to submit at the Immigration of TIA for fully vaccinated people.
- Document of Covid-19 vaccine cards dated 14-day prior.
- Negative 72-hour RT PCR report before check in.
- Proof/copy of the permit or Permit acceptance for those who are traveling Nepal for trekking & expedition. (Mainly TIMS Card/permit for Trekkers).
- Proof of hotel booking in Nepal.
- Fill up the CCMC form from this link and print the bar code page (mandatory)
Documents required to submit at the Immigration of TIA l for non-vaccinated people:
- Upon arrival in Nepal, if tested positive on antigen testing, you need to quarantine for 10 days at your own cost. You need to do a PCR test on the 11th day, if negative, then you are free to travel around.
- PCR tests, quarantine, and insurance will be at your own cost.
- During your visit here in Nepal, if there are signs and symptoms of Covid in between, then you need to do PCR testing, if positive, you need to quarantine.
- If you are visiting here through an agency, it is a duty and responsibility of that agency to strictly follow the rules and regulations.
- It is a duty and responsibility of an agency or hotel to report if anybody who is not strictly following the rules and regulations to Nepal Police or the concerned authority.
